Rayas #4 Diagrams

The ships Manatee and MAD-C (Más Allá de California) share this architecture, designed for the terraformers of the Early Diaspora colonies. Capacity 30,000 people, plus equipment. (Click for closeup.)

Hull Anatomy: The ship uses a fabric fuselage hull (fabric like fiberglass sandwiched with kevlar). The skin is wound onto wire stringers, strung between bulkheads and formers (a former is like a frame-only bulkhead). Further cables support the formers from spine and bulkheads – omitted to focus on stringers and formers.  (Click for closeup.)
